Department Newsletter
The Development Services Department is responsible for the review and processing of all applications under the Planning Act and the Ontario Building Code as well as providing current and long term planning services. The Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Township’s Official Plan, Zoning By-laws, other Municipal By-laws, and the Ontario Building Code. The Development Services Department is comprised of the Manager, Associate Planner, Chief Building Official, Building Inspector, Analyst, Septic Inspector, Bylaw Enforcement Officer, and Administrative Assistant.

Building Department Office Hours

To ensure staff are available for walk-ins or short notice appointments, the department has established dedicated office hours for the Chief Building Official (or the Deputy in his absence). This time will also be dedicated to discussions with contractors and homeowners by phone. Office hours have been set for:

Wednesdays from 9:00am to noon.


Service ‘by availability’ (when not in field) or appointment will remain throughout the week.

As the busy season gets into full swing we like to remind folks that making an appointment is the best way to ensure the CBO will be available to meet.

Development Services Department eMail & Contractor Lists - Get Added

Email ListThe Development Services Department has created an electronic mail list geared to contractors and related businesses. The mail list will be used to distribute updates and alerts and the new department newsletter. Get added by clicking this link: tracy@twprideaulakes.on.ca

Contractors List

The Department maintains a publicly available list of contractors (including septic, HVAC and general contracting). While the Municipality does not promote any individual business, over time it has been found to be a helpful resource for folks seeking services or looking to start a project. To get added, removed or to confirm your information is up-to-date please contact Tracy at tracy@twprideaulakes.on.ca.
