CORPORATE SERVICES STUDENT SUMMER POSITION

 

RECEPTIONIST

 

The Township is seeking to hire 1 college/university student to fill a seasonal

receptionist position within the Corporate Services Department.  Student must be

returning to school in the fall, be mature, responsible and be able to work in both a

team and individual environment.  The position has an anticipated start date of May 1st.

 

The position involves, but is not limited to, daily interaction with the general public, collection/reconciliation of fees and receipts, assisting various Departments as required

and answering general inquiries and phone calls.  Excellent communication skills are required, including a personable approach to answering inquiries by phone and walk-in.  

Efficiency, accountability, organization and knowledge of computer programs

(Word and Excel) are essential.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

 

CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL

 

The Corporation of the Township of Rideau Lakes is seeking an individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of Chief Building Official within the Development Services Department.  BCIN Qualifications Required: House; Small Building; Building Structural; Building Services; HVAC House; Plumbing-House; Plumbing-All Buildings; Detection Lighting and Power; General Legal/Process; and Powers and Duties of a CBO.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT STUDENT SUMMER POSITIONS:

  • Seeking university/college students returning to school in the fall. 

  • Must be mature, responsible and able to work in both a team and individual environment. 

  • Must possess a valid G Driver's Licence.

  • ROADS - 2 positions

  • MUNICIPAL PROPERTIES - 3 positions

The positions in the Roads and Properties Departments involve, but are not limited to, lawn maintenance, painting, building/shop/equipment maintenance, waste/recycling collection, traffic control, road maintenance and all other duties as assigned.  Students applying for these positions must be available and willing to work Sunday afternoons.  Most, if not all, work will be outside.  Begin May 1, 2017.

  • NEWBORO HARBOUR - 1 position

The Newboro Harbour Master will oversee the day-to-day operations at the Harbour which include daily interaction with the public, collecting/reconciling fees and receipts, site maintenance, Sunday waste collection and other duties as assigned. 

Begins May 18, 2017.

  • ENGINEERING (includes administrative duties) - 1 position

The Engineering Student position will involve outside work, office work, as well as administrative duties, daily traffic counts, audits, landfill site inspections, report writing, and other duties as assigned.  Must have a strong background in computer programs with the ability to create excel spreadsheets.  Preference will be given to candidates in the process of completing Engineering or Engineering Technology programs.  Begins May 1, 2017.
